John McIlhargy "Mac" | Founder, Mythic Sports
John McIlhargy founded Mythic Sports to innovate in
facility design, development, programming, and operations. With over 35 years of experience in sports, design, and aquatics, he has played a key role in shaping world-class venues. Previously, John served as Director of Project Development for USA Swimming, where he helped establish the Facilities Development Department. As Vice President of Sports Development at Tetra Tech Sports, he contributed to global sports infrastructure, from arenas to Olympic venues. A technical consultant for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, John has advised on multiple Olympic bids, trials, and FINA World Championship facilities. He helped pioneered the use of temporary event structures and advanced new pool construction methodologies, consulting on 400+projects worldwide. Beyond design and engineering, John brings hands-on expertise as a coach, swim program owner, and operator. He has also served as General Chairman of Metropolitan Swimming, one of the largest LSCs in the U.S. Latest News
